On Samsung Omnia i8000 Download And Install Android

Android-Omnia-i8000-Android
In case you were thinking to chuck your Samsung Omnia i8000 Windows Mobile phone due to it’s outdated-ness and with no hope for a Windows Phone 7 port, then it’s time to think
again! Developers and hackers have refused to give in and have ported Android 2.1 Eclair to this seemingly old and out dated WinMo device. In our opinion, the resistive AMOLED on this phone might not provide you with a full Android experience, but still it out performs WinMo OS by miles.
Here is a list of what works after you install Android on your Samsung Omnia i8000:
  • Call Making / Receiving
  • Wi-Fi Connects
  • GPS
  • Android Market and Apps installation / downloads
  • FM radio
And the stuff that doesn’t work:
  • Bluetooth Connectivity
  • GPRS
  • Sensors etc.
If this port make you interested, then head to the official XDA thread posted here for downloads, instructions and support. If you are unsure if this might brick your device, then stay away from this build because it’s a beta version.
