Samsung Galaxy S users on either Bell, Virgin Mobile or SaskTel — your Android 2.2 update is now available. Needless to say, the update process seems a little involved and requires the Samsung Kies program along with a Windows based PC…….
Android 2.2 Froyo Update

To start with, if you have not already, fire up your Windows computer and then head on over to www.samsungapps.com so you can download and install the latest version of the Samsung Kies app……
After that has been completed you will need to launch Samsung Kies and then connect your Galaxy S to your computer using your USB cable. Once connected, the program will recognize the phone and then give you a pop-up telling you that the update is available. And just in case it does not alert you of the update, you can click the firmware update icon to force things……
One nice feature of Kies is that it offers an place where you can back up you contacts during the process so if you want, make sure you mark that checkbox. Otherwise follow though the prompt clicking next when appropriate. After a few clicks, the Android 2.2 software will download and then you will move onto the install process…..
