Jailbreak iPad 2 with SHAtter ? Geohot’s Limera1n Bootrom Exploit Patched!

This is certainly a bad new for entire jailbreaking community. Finally, Apple have patched Geoho’t imera1n’s bootrom exploit, and iPad 2 on iOS 4.3 cannot be jailbrokennow, as confirmed by iPhone hacker iH8sn0w. Other jailbreaking tools like greenpois0n, sn0wbreeze and PwnageTool will not work as all of them share the same exploit.

However, chances are minimal that SHAtter exploit will work to jailbreak iPad2. The hacking community is hard at work to find if A5 (iPad 2 Chip) has the same vulnerabilities as the A4 (S5L8930)

Those who are living under the rock, SHAtter exploit create a tethered jailbreak and pwns the iOS device for life. Being a bootrom exploit, it can’t be fixed by Apple without a new hardware release of iOS device (like iPad 2). Just firmware’s update will not going to patch the bootrom exploit.
