iPad 2 Launching on March 2 – Confirmed

Apple’s iPad 2 will be launched on March 2 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco! The information is stemming directly from AllThingsD, which is confirming that Apple will launch its next-gen flagship tablet device iPad 2 in a San Fransisco event!
To
those who care intensely about this kind of stuff-which would be pretty much everyone in the tech ecosystem-Apple will hold its much-anticipated event on March 2, where the tech giant seems poised to unveil a new versionof its hugely successful iPad, according to multiple sources.
According to several sources close to the situation, the Wednesday date in a little more than a week is firm and will take place in San Francisco, the scene of many such Apple events.
In that case, the venue is likely to be the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
iPad 2 is expected to be thinner than its predecessor with an improved display, front-facing camera for facetime video calling support. And some reports suggest it will be powered by one of Qualcomm’s multimode chips and will run on both GSM and CDMA-based networks. The overall shape is said to be different from the iPad 1 which has round arc design, and looks smoother like iPhone4.
Most likely Tim Cooks will lead the stage to unveil iPad 2, as Steve Jobs is on medical Leave due to health concern.
